The designer brings his Scottish-Jamaican heritage to reinterpret the subcultures both he and Fred Perry represent in their work.
Daley’s shows are often musical as a result of his family’s role in the emergence of the reggae sound system culture in Britain, and this same message is channelled into this collaborative project.
Nicholas Daley and Fred Perry are debuting the collection as a continuation of the SLYGO collection.
It also references the links between music and culture, with pieces such as the yellow wide-collard striped shirt tapping both the ’70s and his heritage.
Speaking on the collection in a press release, Daley says “I feel there’s a good connection between both my brand and Fred Perry which ties in the ethos between celebrating different cultures and music. I feel we are aligned with our beliefs, both being British fashion labels
with a strong ethos on British subculture.”
